The Power of Love

Day 3 later

Today was a big day for Shane the tube that was draining the blood clot on the top of his head was pulled out which is awesome because that means the clot is either gone or reduced significantly and is no longer putting pressure on his brain. The sheath in his femoral artery was removed, it was incredibly painful for him but he is a trooper. After 5hrs of sandbagging the artery to make sure that is was sealed he was given a sponge bath. Which he did not enjoy as much as he thought he might!!!! By the end of the night he was sitting up a little and enjoyed his dinner of broth and juice. The results of his MRA were amazing the second aneurysm was easily seen and the surgeon will be able to find it within mm. Tomorrow will be his second surgery please pray for him and send him positive thoughts. To all of you who were here for him today thank you, it does wonders for his attitude it help him remain positive and reminds him that he has a huge loving family who would do anything for him. It gives him that extra push he needs to remain and fight. Thank you we love you!

Day 3

I currently just arrived at the hospital for the night shift, I have rediscovered that sleep and food are optional and reinforced that coffee is not!!!!! Shane is sleeping peacefully, vitals are perfect and there is an amazing calm peaceful feeling in the room. Thank you to all of you who have come to be with him I know that you are a great comfort to him and it is a reminder to him just how much he is loved. The results of his MRA are good the second bleed is not actually bleeding and is not an urgent matter, however due to the probability that it might bleed the doctors are going to go in on Friday and fix it before it can become a problem, and wouldn't you know it there is already a hole in the back of his head for them to go through. Again thank you for your prayers and thoughts we love you.

He recieved a second angio today and there is a second bleed it very small and not urgent, he will be receiving a MRI and MRA in a little bit find excatly where the bleed is and most likely will have a second surgery on Friday. The blood clot on his left front temporal lobe is reducing as hoped. We are so greatful for your love and support.

Are you kidding!!!!

At 2 am on March 16 Shane woke up with a really bad headache which is definitely unusual but he took Tylenol and some IB and went back to bed at 6 am he was throwing up and by 6:30 he had lost his vision, by 6:45 we were at the ER at UVRMC. After a quick CT the bleed in his brain was obvious. We were told that he had a "Brain Aneurysm". Really are you joking I just keep thinking this is got to be a joke but know it wasn't. They rushed him to the cath lab for a angiogram but first his uncle Thayne arrived to give him a blessing and then off to the OR where his head was shaved (but not the beard) and a hole was drilled in his skull to drain off the blood and clamp the bleed. Next there were 2 different shunts placed in his head so that the extra blood could drain off his brain. Then he was wheeled to ICU. Yes there was definitely more that happened this is just the glossy version. Currently he is in a lot of pain but he is stable and the pain is being managed. He has an amazing nursing staff that are doing an excellent job of taking care of him. He still knows who he is and everyone who comes to see him, he knows his children names and what day it is and what has happened to him, but the vision still has not returned. To all of you who were here today to love and support him thank you so much!!! We are so very blessed to have friends and family who will not think twice to stand by you in your time of need. I will try to post regularly to keep everyone informed, please pray for him.

How does Kaybree roll?

I focus daily on things that I am greatful for, and journal about the things that make me smile. Every so often I find things that make me laugh, today was one of those days and kaybree and Zac (her friend down the street) just happened to be the reason! ;>) Zac often walks down the street to get kaybree to play today he just happened to have other means of transportation besides nike express. It was the Mule!! Kaybree anwsers the door and Zac asks "can you play" and of course she anwsers "yes" then Zac replies "k well i came to get you so you didn't have to walk" the 3 house down the street thank heavens it might have been to hard on her to make that long walk, and lucky me i just happened to be out side for the ride home.

Tandens Arrow of Light

Tonight is March 11 2010 and Tanden received his Weeblos Arrow of Light. We are so proud of you buddy, it took a lot of time and effort for you to get this, awesome job. As his birthday was getting closer we realized that he was missing a few items for completion so we rallied around him and supported him in getting this done. To those of you who helped, you know who you are (Tish and Julie), a special thanks to you I could never have navigated this process without you! Here are just a few of the things that he needed to complete:

He needed to make a blanket, which he did all by him self. This blanket was for his good turn and after he made it, it was taken to the school to be sent to Primary Children. Hum it seems we have some other scouts in the family that are sews also, it must be hereditary. Next we had to go on a boy scout outing that included a hike, so we went to Scofield with the scouts ice fishing and wouldn't you know it, there was a blizzard that morning and for any of you who know me know that I hate driving in the snow but it was a must that we go so buckle up. I didn't know who was going to have a break down first me because of the snow or Shane because of me. Thanks honey for being patient I know that sometime its a lot of work.
